Revisiting the site and sounds of Perry Como's last ABC Christmas special

They didn’t come any nicer than Perry Como, whose last Christmas special for ABC (in 1986) originated from San Antonio.

Your friendly content provider was there for a full day of taping, plus an interview with Como. It’s always been one of my favorite stories and experiences -- and you can revisit it if you’d like on our Back Channels page.

Plus, NBC5 hires a new reporter, Jack Highberger, from Minneapolis’ Fox-owned station.

A pair of Uncle Barky’s Countdown to Christmas videos are also in our mix. You can find them here and here.

Also, another edition of the D-FW Nielsen ratings “snapshot” shows that even a big lemon served up by Thursday Night Football can draw a big enough crowd to outpoint the night’s competing programs.
