Fox4 anchor/reporter Adrian Arambulo, a six-year veteran at the Dallas-based station, is leaving for an on-air position at KNBC-TV in Los Angeles.

Arambulo has been anchoring Fox4’s weekend Good Day programs and also reports from the field during weekday editions.

Fox4 news director Robin Whitmeyer confirmed his new destination in a staff memo Monday.

“I know we, and our viewers, will miss Adrian,” she said. “We wish him much happiness and success in Los Angeles.”

The Loyola University Chicago graduate joined the station in June 2007 from KLAS-TV in Las Vegas. He became Good Day’s weekend anchor in July 2011 as a part of a sweetener in his new contract.

Below is a brief video of Arambulo choking up while saying goodbye to Fox4 on Monday’s Good Day. He broke the news to viewers at the end of a live report. His Facebook page since has been flooded with comments from fans of his work. The announcement coincides with Arambulo’s last day at Fox4.
