Fox4's Richard Ray and former Fox4 reporter Rebecca Aguilar

Veteran Fox4 anchor-reporter Richard Ray has a new sideline at the station.

Ray, who joined Fox4 in October, 1983, says on his Facebook page that he's "now effectively the #3 sports guy. Staff cuts have left Mike (Doocy) and Max (Morgan) as (the) only on-air types. I'll be doing 5 p.m. Sports Sunday . . . Should be fun."

Ray filled in for an ill Doocy on Sunday's regular 10 p.m. sports program. He otherwise anchors weekend newscasts for Fox4 and also is the in-house curator of the myfoxdfw JFK assassination page.

***One of Ray's former Fox4 colleagues, Rebecca Aguilar, is featured in a USA Today story touting her fledgling "Wise Latinas Linked" social networking page on Facebook.

Aguilar says the group has more than 1,700 members since she formed it two months ago. It was her response to criticism of then U.S. Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor's 2001 comment that she hoped a "wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male."

Aguilar's suspension and ultimate termination by Fox4 have been well-documented on this website. Her subsequent lawsuit against the station is still pending.
