Courteney Cox of FX's Dirt and Patricia Arquette of NBC's Medium

By ED BARK
Two single-minded TV women will be back in business next season.

FX has has granted Courteney Cox's Dirt a sophomore year while NBC is giving Patricia Arquette's Medium a fourth turn at the plate.

The Riches, still unwinding its first season on FX, also has been greenlighted for another year.

Other series won't be as fortunate when the five broadcast networks unveil their new fall schedules next week. Here's what looks to be "on the bubble."

NBC
Friday Night Lights -- NBC is enduring dismal prime-time ratings in the season's homestretch. That doesn't help matters for this gem of a first-year series that few watched. There's still hope, though.

Law & Order -- Maybe one more season, but it'll be a close call.

Law & Order: Criminal Intent -- Almost certain curtains.

Scrubs -- NBC likely is done with it, but there's a chance of an ABC pickup because the show is produced by Disney-owned Touchstone.

Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip -- Would be a major surprise if it returns.

The Apprentice -- Looks like it's fired.

Crossing Jordan -- Likely crossing over into the cancellation corral.

Thank God You're Here -- Iffy, but has a chance.

1 vs. 100 -- Probably will be plugged in somewhere.

ABC
George Lopez -- An almost certain adios.

According to Jim -- According to Uncle Barky, it's done.

What About Brian -- Has about a 1 in 100 chance of returning.

October Road -- Very likely to see another autumn.

Notes From the Underbelly -- A longshot to be back, but ABC is still promoting it.

CBS
Jericho -- Odds are against it, but there's still a chance.

The New Adventures of Old Christine -- The Nielsen numbers lately are drooping. And Julia Louis-Dreyfus doesn't come cheap.

The Class -- School's out.

Rules of Engagement -- Should be resuming.

The Unit -- Might be a surprise evictee. CBS needs to shake things up a bit, and this show is hurt by its older audience appeal.

Ghost Whisperer -- There's probably still life beyond the grave.

Close to Home -- Solid if unspectacular performer. No really good reason to drop it.

The Amazing Race -- Ratings were less than sensational for All-Star edition, but should get to the starting line at least one more time.

Fox
'Til Death -- At least a 50-50 shot to get a second life.

The War At Home -- Battling ratings too low to be back.

American Dad -- Weakest link in Sunday night's cartoon cavalcade, but it does fill out a quartet.

Nanny 911 -- No good reason to go on.

Trading Spouses: Meet Your New Mommy -- Probably meets its maker.

The CW
Veronica Mars -- Say goodnight.

All of Us -- Don't look for it again.

The Game -- That's ballgame.

One Tree Hill -- Dutch Elm Disease has set in, but CW somehow still seems rooted to it.
