Sugar Ray Leonard, Kirstie Alley will hoof 'n' puff on Dancing.

By ED BARK
Politicians or political offspring are missing in action this time, but a trio of athletes will hit ABC's hardwoods when the 12th edition of Dancing with the Stars launches on Monday, March 21st.

Former middleweight champ Sugar Ray Leonard, defeated Pittsburgh Steelers receiver Hines Ward and wrestler Chris Jericho are among the 11 celebrity participants in the network's heavyweight answer to Fox's American Idol.

Other notable names competing for the show's increasingly iconic "mirror ball trophy" include up-and-down actress Kirstie Alley and former Karate Kid star Ralph Macchio.

Here's the rest of the field:

***Flamboyant daytime talk show host Wendy Williams, who now will talk about little else.
***Enterainer/actor/entrepreneur/phlanthropist (according to ABC) Romeo (formerly Lil' Romeo)
***Supermodel Petra Nemcova
***Disney Channel kid star Chelsea Kane
***Punk rocker and radio personality "Psycho" Mike Catherwood
***Former Hugh Hefner trinket Kendra Wilkinson, lately the star of E!'s Kendra

All in all it seems like a pretty underwhelming field for a show that crowned Jennifer Grey its latest champion last fall. The new cast was announced on Monday's edition of ABC's The Bachelor. Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke return as hosts. The show's charter field of judges -- Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli -- also remains intact.
