Television news pioneer Don Hewitt: Dec. 14, 1922 to Aug. 19, 2009 (updated)

Don Hewitt, creator of 60 Minutes and architect of the first televised presidential debate in 1960, died of pancreatic cancer Wednesday. He was 86.
