A busy week of newsroom hires in D-FW

NBC5, TEGNA8 and CBS11 all have recently made or are making additions to their newsrooms.

Also, ratings for the Summer Olympics in Rio continue to surge in DFW after Friday night’s Opening Ceremonies fell pretty flat. Tuesday’s Michael Phelps-powered nighttime coverage had the best showing yet on NBC5, soaring to an average of nearly one million viewers. The last three nights have all done better ratings-wise than their 2012 counterparts from London. Details are on our Dallas-Fort Worth TV page.
