CBS11 arrival/departure: Brooke Katz & Yona Gavino

CBS11 has hired Brooke Katz as the station’s Saturday evening/late night news anchor and reporter for four weekdays.
Katz, who started on Monday, also will be a fill-in anchor, as she has been this week for the vacationing Gilma Avalos. The 2006 Rutgers University graduate most recently anchored and reported for Charlotte, NC’s NBC affiliate, WCNC-TV. She joined WCNC in May 2015 and most recently had been helming the noon and 4 p.m. weekday newscasts. Before that, Katz was with Louisville, KY’s WHAS-TV, an ABC affiliate.
CBS11 director of communications Lori Conrad also confirmed that reporter Yona Gavino is no longer with the station. She arrived in June 2016 from Milwaukee’s WTMJ-TV.
