NBC5 adds Candace Sweat to reporting staff

After a nearly five-year stay with Raleigh, N.C.’s WRAL-TV, Candace Sweat is joining Fort Worth-based NBC5 as a general assignment reporter.
She announced her move on Twitter and NBC5 vice president of programming Brian Hocker confirmed that Sweat’s first day at the station will be April 8th.
The University of Texas at Arlington graduate praised North Carolina as “such a special place for so many reasons. WRAL tops that list. I’ll save goodbyes for later. For now, I’ll just say thank you!!” She closed her tweet with the bible verse Isaiah 43:19. It begins with, “Behold, I will do a new thing.”
Before joining WRAL in August, 2014, Sweat worked at WBMA/WCFT-TV in Birmingham, Ala.
