Dallas-based WFAA8 has hired a replacement for meteorologist Colleen Coyle, who left the station in July to chart some new courses.

She’s Kalee Dionne, who has been a weekend weathercaster for Chicago’s NBC-owned WMAQ-TV, where she spent three years. She’ll be a weekday forecaster at WFAA8 while also dropping down a couple of sizes in TV markets from No. 3 Chicago to No. 5 D-FW.

Dionne’s departure was first reported by veteran Chicago media watchdog Robert Feder. On her Twitter feed, she says she’ll be joining WFAA8 in December. Her Twitter description bills her as “Small human, Weird” and “Fitness Lover.” Dionne earlier worked at TV stations in Kansas City and Birmingham, Alabama. She has a Broadcast Meteorology degree from Mississippi State University.
